Name:
R.K. Bentley
Website:
Hello, my name is RK Bentley and currently I am living on the East Coast. Recently graduated from NEIT with an Associates in Multimedia, Web and Graphic Design.

When I'm not going to work full time, I enjoy writing, photography and playing Xbox 360.

A goal of mine is get finish writing a novel and begin to query to find an agent and get the novel published.

A brief background on myself:

In 1996, I met up with Paul Chabot at a college computer course regarding Illustrator. He was an illustrator and had graduated from Rhode Island College ten years previously and was checking out what the computer could do.

One year later with the aide of the computers in the RIC Computer Lab we published our first comic book called Totems.

We then self published four more issues over the next four years and several comic book conventions like San Diego Comic Con reality finally set in: This comic wasn't going anywhere, only because we hadn't pushed away from the furry trappings that everyone thought the comic was about.

From comic books we turned to writing movie screenplays. It turned out this was much easier since (gasp) it's just writing no art or preproduction involved! Woo-Hoo!

After a few trial and errors we managed to finish a horror screenplay called "Off The Post..." that placed in Project Greenlight 3 Top 1000 screenplays.

Recently, myself and Paul have decided to refocus our writing towards a 30 minute television spec.

In 2003 I stumbled over NaNoWrimo and in 2004, I've decided to pick up where I left off in writing the idea I haven't touched full time since 1996. I won't be posting much about the novel because I feel I could easily finish it and send out to Literary Agents or worse case, Vanity Presses or even adapt the book into a screenplay.

As for NaNoWrimo 2005, I decided to play in someone else's sandbox and wrote a Serenity/Firefly fic called Leaves on the Wind. I only managed to get up to 43k.

As for NaNoWrimo 2006, I became the Co-ML for Rhode Island and decided to write a horror novel based in Rhode Island during a snow storm and managed to finish a few days early. My plan is to finish it and submit it once it's been edited into something readable.

In 2007, I participated in Script Frenzy once again as the Co-ML for RI. The event was slightly different from NaNo due to the amount of people involved which hopefully will grow since RI is slowly becoming a place for Hollywood to film television shows and movies.

In 2008, I started going to NEIT and my NaNoWrimo Novel ended well below 2k.

In 2009, I managed to reach the 50k finish line and currently I am editing that into something readable.

Before NaNoWrimo 2010, I went back through and edited the story and managed to reach 100k before NaNoWrimo started. The goal is to finish the manuscript and start sending it out to agents.

In 2010, I decided to try and go for 100k and managed to reach 71k. The half finished manuscript is a sequel to the 2009 manuscrupt.
